Regular Season Round 23: KR - Breidablik 98-68

Second ranked KR (17-6) crushed at home 7th ranked Breidablik (3-20) by 30 points 98-68, which is the biggest margin this round. It looked good early as Breidablik took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then KR had a 33-20 second period charge getting the lead and Breidablik was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-98. KR dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Breidablik's 26. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Breidablik's players. Serbian-Hungarian swingman Sanja Orozovic (186-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Danielle Rodriguez (178-93, college: Utah) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four KR players scored in double figures. American guard Danni Williams (178, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and guard Telma Asgeirsdottir (169-93) added 7 points in the effort for Breidablik. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KR maintains second place with 17-6 record having four points less than leader Valur. Breidablik at the other side keeps the seventh position with 20 games lost. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena Valur.
