The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Gharafa (#5) and Al Sadd (#8). Al Sadd was crushed at home by 26 points 58-84 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Sadd. They outrebounded Al Sadd 60-35 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al Gharafa looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Al Sadd's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: UAPB) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Shane Rector (188-94, college: Utah St.) chipped in 20 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Al Gharafa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard JuanYa Green (188-92, college: Hofstra, agency: 3Eye) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) scored 7 points and 11 rebounds. Al Gharafa (10-6) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Rayyan. Al Sadd at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost.
