The game between closely ranked teams ended with Ramat Hasharon's (10-11) road loss to Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (13-8) 60-66 on Thursday. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion outrebounded Ramat Hasharon 50-35 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Sidney Cook (188-94, college: Virginia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Feyonda Fitzgerald (170-95, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 18 points and center Khadijiah Cave (190-95, college: Baylor) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will meet Maccabi Ramat Gan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ramat Hasharon will play against Holon (#6) in Holon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
