Regular Season Round 16: Honka - OBA 62-89

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Espoo: OBA (#1) and Honka (#5). Honka was smashed at home by 27 points 62-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. OBA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Honka's 24. They outrebounded Honka 52-35 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Federiko Federiko (205-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Ian Uwamungu (188-1) who added 23 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four OBA players scored in double figures. OBA's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Sebastian Lindberg (193-2) responded with 26 points and guard Lauri Kallio (188-3) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. OBA (14-0) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 14 victories in a row. Honka at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Kataja. OBA are looking forward to face HNMKY (#3) in Helsinki in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Honka will play on the road against the league's second-placed MuKi in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
