Regular Season Round 21: Antibes - Souffel 68-61

Date: February 28, 2020
Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Olympique Antibes (13-7) won against at home 7th ranked Souffelweyersheim (11-10) 68-61 on Friday. Strangely Souffelweyersheim outrebounded Olympique Antibes 48-32 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olympique Antibes made 7 blocks. American-Nigerian guard Zaid Hearst (194-92, college: Quinnipiac) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and Swedish Viktor Gaddefors (202-92) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Joe Burton (202-90, college: Oregon St.) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and Jamaican forward Kentan Facey (206-93, college: UConn, agency: Inception Sports) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympique Antibes have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 13-7 record. Newly promoted Souffelweyersheim keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Olympique Antibes will meet Saint-Quentin (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Souffelweyersheim will play against Gries/Oberhoffen (#13) and hope to secure a win.
