Regular Season Round 19: Visby - Mark 63-83

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Mark (5-13) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Visby Ladies (2-15) 83-63. It looked good early as Visby Ladies took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mark had a 24-15 second period charge getting the lead and Visby Ladies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-83. Mark players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Guard Shay Burnett (175-96, college: Elon) fired a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Forward Terae Briggs (190, college: Nevada) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Julie Spencer (186-96, college: Portland) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and guard Alexa Middleton (175-95, college: Iowa St.) added 15 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Mark maintains eighth place with 5-13 record. Visby Ladies at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. Mark's next round opponent will be Uppsala (#10) at home. Visby Ladies will play against A3 Basket and hope to win that game.
