There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (9-17) smashed at home higher ranked Caen (15-11) 81-61 on Friday. Center Alexis Thomas (208-95) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Maxence Claveau (195-94) chipped in 16 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. Five Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. Soriah Bangura (196-93) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Bryquis Perine (190-88, college: Green Bay) scored 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lourdes-Tarbes maintains eleventh position in Group A with 9-17 record, which they share with Stade Rochelais and Lorient. Loser Caen keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost.
