Regular Season Round 20: Dafni - Pagrati 92-90

A very interesting game took place in Athens. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 13th ranked Pagrati (6-12) to tenth ranked Dafni (8-11) 92-90 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pagrati. Dafni players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Pagrati helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-91) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Georgios Angelou (185-94, college: St.Francis, PA) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Five Dafni players scored in double figures. Point guard Yiannis Tzivelekas (180-96) produced 28 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin center Milovan Draskovic (211-95, agency: Interperformances) added 23 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dafni moved-up to eighth place. Pagrati at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Dafni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Psychiko.
