We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Atlanta where fifth ranked Hawks (19-43) defeated 4th placed Trail Blazers (26-35) 129-117 on Saturday. Hawks made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Trail Blazers' players. Trail Blazers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Trae Young (188-98, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). U.S. Virgin Islands-American John Collins (208-97, college: Wake Forest) helped adding 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was guard CJ McCollum (193-91, college: Lehigh) with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks maintains fifth place with 19-43 record. Trail Blazers lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 35 games lost.
