The game between Top Four teams took place in Santander. host Estela (13-10) was smashed by Girona Basquet (17-6) 74-54. Girona Basquet outrebounded Estela 47-32 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Girona Basquet especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Albert Sabat (181-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists. American forward Antonio Hester (198-90, college: Mobile, AL) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Hester is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Stephen Ugochukwu (201-96, college: McNeese St.) answered with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import guard Junior Robinson (165-96, college: Mt.St.Mary's) added 12 points in the effort for Estela. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Girona Basquet's next round opponent will be Juaristi ISB in Azpeitia and it will be for sure the game of the week. Estela will play on the road against Real Murcia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
