There was no surprise in Lodz where 11th ranked Katarzynki (3-16) was defeated by ninth ranked Widzew (5-14) 82-71. They made 27-of-31 charity shots (87.1 percent) during the game, while Katarzynki only scored six points from the stripe. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Taylor Emery (178-97, college: Virginia Tech) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. American-American Samoan guard Jazmine Davis (170-93, college: Washington) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Widzew players scored in double figures. American swingman Naomi Davenport (183, college: WVU) came up with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Latoya Williams (192-87, college: Chipola JC) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Katarzynki in the defeat. Widzew maintains ninth place with 5-14 record. Katarzynki lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Widzew's next round opponent will be higher ranked Politechnika Gdanska (#8) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Katarzynki will play against AZS Gorzow in Gorzow Wlkp. and hope to win that game.
