Everything went according to plan in Vilagarcia Arousa where fifth ranked Real Canoe (14-6) beat 12th ranked Cortegada (4-16) 87-76 on Saturday. They outrebounded Cortegada 37-26 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Real Canoe looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Laura Prats (174-99) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Macarena Roldan-Garcia (176-94) who added 13 points and 12 assists during the contest. Real Canoe's coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Cristina Loureiro (183-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Patricia Vicente (176-98) scored 15 points and 9 assists. Four Cortegada players scored in double figures. Real Canoe moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Alcobendas. Cortegada lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Real Canoe will face Leganes (#6) at home in the next round. Cortegada will play against ADBA (#13) in Aviles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
