Regular Season Round 22: PBB - Leon 83-71

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked PBB (13-6) beat 14th ranked Leon (3-16) in Porrino 83-71 on Saturday. They outrebounded Leon 55-35 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Leon was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Jorge Cabaleiro (192-96) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Four PBB players scored in double figures. PBB's coach Jenaro Alonso used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Swedish forward Musa Jeng (202-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and American forward Billy McDonald (198-94, college: Caldwell) added 26 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Leon. PBB maintains fourth position in Group A-B with 13-6 record. Leon lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. PBB will face Univ.Valladolid (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leon will play against Xiria in Carballo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
