Regular Season Round 23: AIK Basket - Helsingborg 94-83

There was no surprise in Solna where 9th ranked Helsingborg (3-20) was defeated by sixth ranked AIK Basket (11-11) 94-83 on Saturday. AIK Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Helsingborg's players. It was a great evening for the former international guard Serkan Inan (201-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. AIK Basket's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Anton Persson (180-97) responded with 22 points and guard Alexander Smakowski (188-0) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Helsingborg players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for AIK Basket. They maintain sixth place with 11-11 record. Helsingborg lost their sixteenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 20 games lost. AIK Basket will meet league's leader KFUM Fryshuset in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Helsingborg will play against Taby Basket (#4) and hope to secure a win.
