Regular Season Round 22: Valencia - Clarinos 69-71

The most exciting game of round 22 in the LFB took place in Valencia. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of higher ranked Valencia (14-8) to eighth ranked Clarinos (11-11) 71-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valencia. Strangely Valencia outrebounded Clarinos 48-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-96, college: Temple) fired 23 points for the winners. The other American import center Vionise Pierre-Louis (193-95, college: Oklahoma) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. The former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Joy Brown (180-93, college: Iona) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Clarinos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ensino and Cadi La Seu. Valencia at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Clarinos is looking forward to face Zamarat (#13) in Zamora in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valencia will play on the road against Socinsa Bembibre (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
