Regular Season Round 19: Kolossos HH - Aris 90-86

There was no surprise in Rodou where 14th ranked Aris (5-14) was defeated by eleventh ranked Kolossos HH (8-11) 90-86 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 38-25 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kolossos HH made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Aris turnovers. Strangely Aris outrebounded Kolossos HH 38-19 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aris was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Jermaine Love (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import point guard Malcolm Griffin (193-91, college: Fresno Pacific) helped adding 18 points and 7 assists. At the losing side international point guard Lefteris Bochoridis (193-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists and Montenegrin forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kolossos HH have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ionikos Nikaias and Rethymno. Aris lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Kolossos HH will face Larissa BC (#11) on the road in the next round. Aris will play against Ifestos and hope to win that game.
