Second Stage Round 12: Brest - Prinemanye 75-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Brest's (9-11) home victory over 9th ranked Prinemanye (7-12) 75-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 7 points. Brest dominated on the defensive end, holding Prinemanye to just 6 points in third quarter. They also forced 20 Prinemanye turnovers and outrebounded them 54-38 including 21 on the offensive glass. Prinemanye was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Dmitriy Shved (200-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Brest players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Aleksandr Kalugin (186-1) with 17 points and forward Sergey Lemeshevskiy (193-1) scored 15 points. Prinemanye's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brest maintains eighth position with 9-11 record. Prinemanye lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Brest will face RCOP Tsmoki (#10) in Minsk in the next round. Prinemanye will play at home against RGUOR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
