Regular Season Round 21: Nancy - Poitiers 86-67

There was no surprise when 18th ranked Poitiers (2-19) was crushed on the road by third ranked Sluc Nancy (15-6) 86-67 on Saturday. Sluc Nancy dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers' 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Cameroonian forward Williams Narace (201-97) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Mickael Var (205-90) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican point guard Emanuel Ubilla (188-86, college: Fair Dickinson) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sluc Nancy maintains third place with 15-6 record having just two points less than leader Blois. Poitiers lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Sluc Nancy will meet at home Lille Metropole (#6) in the next round. Poitiers will play against JA Vichy (#12) and hope to secure a win.
