Regular Season Round 22: Filipenses - Easo 41-82

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Easo (13-8) crushed 15th ranked Filipenses (2-18) in Palencia 82-41 on Saturday. Easo dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Filipenses' 24 and had 22 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Filipenses only scored five points from the stripe. Easo forced 24 Filipenses turnovers. Filipenses was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Asier Azpeitia (192-98) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds. Martin Dorronsoro (200-1) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Kenyan Ronald Gombe (203-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Juan-Pedro Garcia (192-88) added 13 points in the effort for Filipenses. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Easo maintains fifth position in Group A-A with 13-8 record. Filipenses lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth place with 18 games lost. Easo will face Solares (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Filipenses will play against Tabirako in Durango and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
