Regular Season Round 22: Aguimes - Rivas 49-63

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Rivas (18-4) defeated on the road 16th ranked Aguimes (4-18) 63-49 on Saturday. Rivas forced 22 Aguimes turnovers. Quite impressive performance for power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Ruben Martinez (196-85) contributed with 9 points for the winners. British power forward Troy McIndoe (204-93) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Paulo Rodriguez (201-0) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Aguimes. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Rivas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group B with 18-4 record having just one point less than leader Alcobendas. Aguimes lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 18 games lost. Rivas will face Dist.Olimpico (#8) in Madrid in the next round where they are favorite. Aguimes will play at home against the league's leader Alcobendas (#1) and hope to win that game.
