Regular Season Round 21: Eanna - UCD Marian 90-76

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Dublin: Eanna (#5) and UCD Marian (#3). Eanna (11-8) won against visiting UCD Marian (12-8) 90-76. Eanna made 40-of-47 free shots (85.1 percent) during the game, while UCD Marian only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded UCD Marian 38-22 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. 30 personal fouls committed by UCD Marian helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Serbian forward Stefan Zecevic (196-93, college: Keiser) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). American point guard Josh Wilson (190, college: Idaho Coll.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Polish Mariusz Markowicz (202-86) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for UCD Marian. UCD Marian's coach Yiannis Liapakis rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Eanna maintains fifth place with 11-8 record. UCD Marian at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Templeogue. Eanna are looking forward to face Neptune (#8) in Cork in the next round. UCD Marian will play against Killorglin (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
