Bottom-ranked Amsterdam managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the two-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they edged sixth-ranked BA Limburg 76-75. Amsterdam forced 20 BA Limburg turnovers. Strangely BA Limburg outrebounded Amsterdam 40-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Center Berend Weijs (207-88, college: Maryland) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Xavier Cannefax (188-89, college: Warner Pacific) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Cannefax is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Trey Burch-Manning (198-95, college: S.Dakota) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Elay Wirjo (197-98) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Amsterdam maintains ninth position with 4-18 record. Loser BA Limburg keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Amsterdam will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BA Limburg will play against Den Helder (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
