The game in Lugo supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Gernika (17-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Maquinaria Ensino (11-11). Gernika smashed Maquinaria Ensino 72-47. Gernika had a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Belen Arrojo (188-95) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Blake Dietrick (178-93, college: Princeton, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 13 points and 7 assists. Five Gernika players scored in double figures. Even 10 points by Serbian point guard Aleksandra Stanacev (167-94) did not help to save the game for Maquinaria Ensino. Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) added 10 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gernika maintains third position with 17-5 record having just two points less than leader Avenida. Maquinaria Ensino at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. Gernika's next round opponent will be Araski (#5) in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Maquinaria Ensino will play on the road against Al-Qazeres in Caceres and hope to win that game.
