Very expected game in Landsmeer where 7th ranked Cangeroes (2-22) were crushed by third ranked Loon Lions (16-8) 74-48. Loon Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Cangeroes' 16. They outrebounded Cangeroes 37-21 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international power forward Fieke Ligthart (185-90) who scored that evening 16 points and 9 rebounds and Lies Van-Straaten (182-0) supported her with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Loon Lions players scored in double figures. Even 12 points by Renee Hoveling (186-94, college: MCC Toronto) did not help to save the game for Cangeroes. Swingman Marit Siersema (177-95) added 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Loon Lions maintains third position with 16-8 record having five points less than leader Grasshoppers. Cangeroes lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh place with 22 games lost. They share the position with Keijser Capital. Loon Lions will play against Jolly J. (#5) in Tubbergen in the next round. Cangeroes will play against Keijser Capital and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
