Regular Season Round 19: Mons-Hainaut - Antwerp 91-88

The most exciting game of round 19 in the Euromillions League took place in Jemappes. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Antwerp Giants (11-6) to third ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (12-5) 91-88 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Antwerp Giants. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Belfius Mons-Hainaut shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Antwerp Giants helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Katin Reinhardt (198-93, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. His fellow American import guard Arik Smith (185-93, college: Cal Lutheran) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Senegalese Ibrahima Faye (207-97) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Hans Vanwijn (205-95) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Antwerp Giants. Five Belfius Mons-Hainaut and four Antwerp Giants players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Belfius Mons-Hainaut moved-up to second place. Antwerp Giants at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Belfius Mons-Hainaut are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Liege Basket (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Antwerp Giants will play against Limburg United (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
