Regular Season Round 22: Mataro Feimat - Tarragona 65-71

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Mataro Feimat (12-8) lost at home to first ranked Tarragona (17-3) 71-65 on Sunday. Mataro Feimat was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for center Ferran Torres (201-88) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds. Senegalese forward Modou Mbaye (202-94) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Tarragona players scored in double figures. Point guard Ignasi Arino (180-86) replied with 22 points and naturalized GMBn forward Omar Toure (199-94) added 7 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Mataro Feimat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Tarragona have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C-B with 17-3 record. Loser Mataro Feimat keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Tarragona will face Roser (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mataro Feimat will play against Palma 2 (#13) in S'Arenal and hope to win that game.
