There was no surprise in Minnesota where 5th ranked Timberwolves (17-42) were crushed by second ranked Mavericks (37-24) 111-91 on Sunday. Mavericks dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Timberwolves' 46. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mavericks made 7 blocks. Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (221-95) fired a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. Point guard Seth Curry (185-90, college: Duke) chipped in 27 points and 4 assists. DAngelo Russell (196-96, college: Ohio St.) produced 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Spanish Juancho Hernangomez (206-95) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Mavericks maintains second position with 37-24 record having four points less than leader Toronto R., which they share with Philadelphia 76.
