Regular Season Round 18: Haga BG - Hogland 91-62

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Haga BG (10-5) outplayed 6th ranked Hogland (7-8) in Norrkoping 91-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Haga BG. Hogland was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haga BG dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Hogland's 32. Haga BG forced 24 Hogland turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for naturalized Bosnian center Jasmin Kovacevic (210-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Jacob Burke (171-2) contributed with 17 points and 7 assists for the winners. Five Haga BG players scored in double figures. Guard Tim Carlsten (187-0) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and center Erik Kall (208-1) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hogland. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Haga BG have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in South with 10-5 record. Hogland lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Haga BG will face Huddinge (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hogland will play against KFUM Fry. 2 (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
