Regular Season Round 22: Salou - Cornella 70-56

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Cornella (12-8) lost on the road to eighth ranked Salou (11-9) 70-56 on Sunday. Salou forced 21 Cornella turnovers. Quite impressive performance for center Eduard Villacampa (204-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Gerard Santiago (185-92) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Xavi Guirao (190-87) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Ignasi Belver (197-94) added 6 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Cornella. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Salou maintains eighth position in Group C-B with 11-9 record. Cornella lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Salou will face Badalones (#9) on the road in the next round.
