Escaramuzas (1-1) recorded a loss in Guadalajara on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Lobas (1-1) 82-70. Lobas forced 24 Escaramuzas turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward LaSonja Edwards (185, college: MTSU, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Hazel Ramirez (165-92, college: Loyola Mary) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Lobas' coach I Zermeno used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and international forward Gladiana Avila (177-94) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lobas is looking forward to face Mieleras (#3) in Guanajuato in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Escaramuzas will play at home against Reales and are hoping to win this game.
