Regular Season Round 22: Almozara - Quart 78-82

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Almozara (4-16) lost at home to third ranked Quart (15-5) 82-78 on Sunday. Quart made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for guard Alberto Coderch-Porras (192-94, college: Webber Intern.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists. Guard Jordi Bataller (193-86) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Quart players scored in double figures. Victor Alijarde (-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Pablo Gracia (197-96) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Almozara. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Quart maintains third position in Group C-A with 15-5 record having four points less than leader Alcobendas. Newly promoted Almozara keeps the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. Quart will face Maristes Ademar (#7) in Badalona in the next round. Almozara will play on the road against Martinenc (#4) in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
