Regular Season Round 18: Alvik 2 - KFUM Sundsvall 92-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Alvik 2's (7-10) home victory over 9th ranked KFUM Sundsvall (5-12) in Stockholm 92-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Alvik 2. KFUM Sundsvall was better in fourth quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alvik 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Sundsvall's 34. Alvik 2 forced 32 KFUM Sundsvall turnovers and outrebounded them 45-28 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by KFUM Sundsvall's players. It was a good game for swingman David Jolinder (194-1) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Adam Tafra (-2) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alfred Johansson (185-92) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Isak Ahnstrand (-2) added 20 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for KFUM Sundsvall. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvik 2 moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Jamtland 2. KFUM Sundsvall lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Alvik 2's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Stockholm to the arena Akropol.
