Regular Season Round 2: Mustangs - Quetzales 69-89

There was no surprise in Saltillo where Mustangs (0-2) were crushed by Quetzales (2-0) 89-69 on Sunday. Quetzales forced 28 Mustangs turnovers. Ashley Dechelle scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Monica Cardenas chipped in 24 points during the contest. Ana Karen responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Ecuadorian point guard Leyda Macias (165-83) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Quetzales and four Mustangs players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quetzales will meet Gladiadoras (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Mustangs will play against Barreteras in Zacatecas and hope to win that game.
