The biggest surprise of round 5 in Hoofdklasse was guest De Schakel's (#4) easy road victory over CLD (#5) 71-53 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was Elray Ritfeld who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Dutch forward Jahmal Henar chipped in 7 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. De Schakel's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anvernee Verwey produced 22 points and 5 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Hesdy Lens added 5 points and 15 rebounds respectivelyfor De Schakel. De Schakel maintains fourth place with 2-2 record. CLD at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Yellow Birds and Finabank.
