Regular Season Round 19: Tindastoll - Fjolnir 80-81

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Tindastoll (12-7) against twelfth ranked Fjolnir (2-17) on Monday night. Host Tindastoll was edged by Fjolnir in a tough game in Sauoarkrokur 80-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tindastoll. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-18. But Tindastoll won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Victor Moses (201-89, college: Georgetown, KY) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Hungarian-Serbian Srdjan Stojanovic (197-91) helped adding 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Slovenian forward Jaka Brodnik (203-92) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Petur Birgisson (185-96) scored 24 points and 6 assists. Newly promoted Fjolnir maintains twelfth place with 2-17 record. Tindastoll at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with KR. Fjolnir will play against league's second-placed Keflavik at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tindastoll will play against Thor Thorl in Thorlakshofn and hopes to get back on the winning track.
