Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Rio Claro (12-13) rolled over at home 15th ranked Pato Basquete (4-19) 77-57 on Wednesday. Rio Claro made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Rio Claro outrebounded Pato Basquete 43-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Vinicius Pastor (200-90) accounted for 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Rio Claro players scored in double figures. Guard Luis-Gustavo de-Oliveira (190-91) came up with 15 points and American forward Charles Funches (203-88, college: Hampton) added 12 points respectively for Pato Basquete in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rio Claro. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with UniFacisa. Newly promoted Pato Basquete keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. Rio Claro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pato Basquete will play against Pinheiros (#6) in Sao Paulo and hope to secure a win.
