It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Grindavik. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But Grindavik won second period 23-19. The former international point guard Sigtryggur-Arnar Bjornsson (180-93, college: St.Mary's) produced 27 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Seth LeDay (201, college: ECU) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the hosts. Four IR and five Grindavik players scored in double figures. IR have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Haukar. Loser Grindavik keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. IR will meet higher ranked Tindastoll (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Grindavik will play against Thor AK (#11) in Akureyri and hope to secure a win.
