Top ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (17-5) recorded its fifth loss in Ramat Hen on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (14-8) 68-66. American forward Chelsea Nelson (188-96, college: NC State) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. The other American import swingman Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion players scored in double figures. Kenyan-Canadian power forward Adut Bulgak (193-92, college: FSU, agency: Ron Sport) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Shenise Johnson (181-90, college: Miami, FL) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-8 record. Maccabi Ramat Gan lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with five games lost. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion are looking forward to face higher ranked Ramla (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
