The game between second ranked Gorizont (5-2) and 5th ranked Victoria (1-11) in Minsk ended with biggest points difference. Gorizont outscored guests from Grodno 106-51. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Victoria to just 7 points in third quarter. Gorizont dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria's 30 and made 35-of-40 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Victoria only scored three points from the stripe. Gorizont forced 29 Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Victoria's players. Gorizont brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Victoria was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Maryia Trafimenkava (167-2) scored 18 points, 6 assists and 8 steals (made all of her seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Janae Smith (188-92, college: UAB) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Anastasia Feklistova (178-2) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Irina Kravchenko (182-1) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gorizont have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Gorizont II. Victoria at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Gorizont will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Victoria's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Grodno to the arena Olimpia.
