Regular Season Round 129: Phoenix Suns - Portland TB 127-117

There was a small surprise in Phoenix where fourth ranked Suns (25-38) beat their close opponent Trail Blazers (28-36) 127-117 on Friday. Suns made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was Australian-New Zealand center Aron Baynes (208-86, college: WSU) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. Devin Booker (198-96, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and guard CJ McCollum (193-91, college: Lehigh) added 25 points and 8 assists respectively. Five Suns and four Trail Blazers players scored in double figures. Trail Blazers' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Suns maintains fourth place with 25-38 record which they share with defeated Trail Blazers. Loser Trail Blazers keep the fourth position with 36 games lost. Suns will have a break next day. Trail Blazers will play at home against Kings (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
