Regular Season Round 37: Kouvot - Pyrinto 85-84

The most exciting game of round 37 in the Korisliiga took place in Kouvola. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Pyrinto (19-17) to eighth ranked Kouvot (14-21) 85-84 on Friday evening. American swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier) answered with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international point guard Antero Lehto (185-84) added 22 points in the effort for Pyrinto. Five Pyrinto players scored in double figures. Pyrinto's coach Sami Toiviainen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kouvot maintains eighth place with 14-21 record. Pyrinto at the other side keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost. Kouvot are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Korihait (#12) in Uusikaupunki in the next round. Pyrinto will play at home against Kataja (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
