Bottom-ranked SKY/Basquete managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Paulistano in Aldeota 99-95. SKY/Basquete forced 22 Paulistano turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Paulistano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-94, college: Mount Olive) scored 30 points, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and center Thiago Mathias (208-89, college: N.Mexico JC) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. International point guard Yago Santos (178-99) responded with 38 points (!!!) and Dominican guard Gelvis Solano (185-94, college: Merrimack) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. SKY/Basquete (5-21) moved-up to fifteenth place. Paulistano at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Bauru. SKY/Basquete will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Paulistano will play against UniFacisa (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
