The game between second ranked Verdes (4-2) and seventh ranked Dream Ballers (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Verdes were defeated by Dream Ballers in Dangriga 86-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Verdes. Dream Ballers made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while Verdes only scored four points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dream Ballers made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Branden Sheppard (203-96, college: William Carey, agency: One Motive Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International guard Edgar Mitchell (-93) helped adding 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Dream Ballers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Devin Thomas (203-96, college: Indiana St., agency: One Motive Sports) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and international Tyrone Hall (190-90, college: Queens, NY) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dream Ballers moved-up to sixth place. Verdes at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. Dream Ballers are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Panthers (#8) in the next round. Verdes will play against Red Bandits (#7) in Belmopan and are hoping to win this game.
