Regular Season Round 22: Quimper - Aix-Maurienne 78-76

Fifteenth-ranked Aix-Maurienne (8-14) was very close to win a game against second ranked Quimper UJAP (17-5) on Friday. Quimper UJAP managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian forward Chima Moneke (190-95, college: UC Davis) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American David Jackson (192-86, college: W.Illinois) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Finnish guard Ilari Seppala (188-93, agency: Blacktop Management) replied with 13 points and 7 assists and point guard Theo Leon (180-92) added 15 points in the effort for Aix-Maurienne. Four Aix-Maurienne players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-5 record behind leader Blois. Aix-Maurienne lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Evreux. Quimper UJAP are looking forward to face Paris (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Aix-Maurienne will play against Poitiers and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
