Regular Season Round 22: Poitiers - Vichy Clermont 60-94

Very expected game when 18th ranked Poitiers (2-20) was smashed at home by twelfth ranked JA Vichy (10-12) 94-60 on Friday. JA Vichy dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers' 30. JA Vichy forced 23 Poitiers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Poitiers' players. It was a very good performance for American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. David Denave (193-85) contributed with 8 points and 10 assists for the winners. JA Vichy's coach Guillaume Vizade felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Mickael Var (205-90) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and center Jim Seymour (200-98) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Poitiers. JA Vichy moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Fos-Provence. Poitiers lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. JA Vichy will face Saint-Quentin (#17) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Poitiers will play against Aix-Maurienne in Aix-les-Bains and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
