Regular Season Round 37: KTP Basket - BC Nokia 78-101

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked BC Nokia (18-18) crushed 4th placed KTP Basket (19-16) in Kotka 101-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Nokia. KTP Basket managed to win third quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded KTP Basket 45-31 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Stacy Davis (199-94, college: Pepperdine, agency: Slash Sports) nailed 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and center Daniel Dolenc (205-93, agency: Blacktop Management) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. American power forward Kevin Langford (203-85, college: TCU) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for KTP Basket in the defeat. BC Nokia maintains sixth place with 18-18 record. KTP Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 16 games lost. BC Nokia will meet at home higher ranked Kauhajoki (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KTP Basket will play against the league's second-placed Vilpas in Salo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
