Regular Season Round 16: Roche - Montpellier 81-74

The most important game in the last round took place in La Roche between third ranked Montpellier (11-5) and eighth ranked Roche (7-9) on Saturday night. Montpellier was defeated by Roche in a tough game on the road 74-81. Roche outrebounded Montpellier 41-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jasmine Bailey (176-90, college: UIC, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Marielle Amant (190-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Roche players scored in double figures. Roche's coach Emmanuel Body used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American forward Gabby Williams (180-96, college: UConn, agency: Wasserman) replied with 28 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Cheyenne Parker (193-92, college: MTSU) added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Montpellier. Roche moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Villeneuve. Montpellier at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Roche is looking forward to face higher ranked Bretagne (#4) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Montpellier will play at home against Villeneuve D'Ascq and is hoping to win this game.
