Regular Season Round 23: Burgos - Fuenlabrada 89-85
Date: March 7, 2020
Very predictable result when eighth ranked Burgos (12-11) beat at home 17th ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (5-17) 89-85 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Burgos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Brazilian Vitor Benite (192-90) who scored 20 points and 4 assists. American Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. Belgian forward Pierre-Antoine Gillet (201-91) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian center Egidijus Mockevicius (208-92, college: Evansville) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Burgos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Baloncesto Fuenlabrada keeps the seventeenth position with 17 games lost. Burgos will face league's leader FC Barcelona on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Real Madrid.
