Regular Season Round 25: Notec Inowr. - Gniezno 85-70

Not a big story in a game in Inowroclaw where 6th ranked Gniezno (11-10) was defeated by third ranked Notec Inowr. (16-5) 85-70 on Saturday. Notec Inowr. dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Gniezno's 16. They outrebounded Gniezno 49-30 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Notec Inowr. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Center Karol Michalek (208-87, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 8 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and point guard Aleksander Filipiak (185-90) chipped in 12 points and 9 assists. Four Notec Inowr. players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Mateusz Rutkowski (178-93) responded with 29 points and Michal Szydlowski (197-87) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Notec Inowr. maintains third place in Group A with 16-5 record having seven points less than leader Dziki Wwa. Loser Gniezno keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Notec Inowr. will face league's second-placed Pelplin in Pelpin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gniezno will play at home against Politechnika Gd. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
