There was no surprise in Malaga where 14th ranked Genero (4-17) was crushed by fourth ranked Unicaja (15-6) 77-58 on Saturday. Unicaja outrebounded Genero 50-28 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-93) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Unicaja's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian-Polish guard Jessica Duleba (173-91, college: Baruch) who recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Regina Gomez (173-82) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Unicaja. Newly promoted Unicaja maintains fourth place in Group B with 15-6 record. Loser Genero keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Unicaja will face Barca CBS (#6) in Barcelona in the next round. Genero will play at home against Almeria (#7) and hope to win that game.
